Tea Party Dreamin' Friday- Oh La La, Paris!

For years now, I've dreamed of traveling. Paris, London, Charleston, SC are at the top of my list! What do these places have in common, you may wonder? For me, it's the lure of tea time. Let's plan my trip to Paris!

To stay at a lovely apartment. Chic pink decor of-course!

With a view of the Eiffel Tower, to sip my tea and relax as each day of adventure unfolds!

I dream of spending afternoons strolling through quaint villages and fabulous flea markets!

I want to sit and enjoy a cup of tea and a Macaroon at Laduree's! I've just signed up for their newsletter, The Laduree Club! This way, I'll know which flavor of Macaroon will be featured during my trip. :)

Then, after a fun afternoon doing all the tourist-y things,I will sit and enjoy a peaceful cup of tea at Mariage Freres!

 

Have you ever been to Paris? I'm sure that there are must -sees for a tea lover such as myself! Please do take a moment to share your favorite Parisian spots! Tea Party Dreamin' Friday- Garden Tents!

This week, I'm joyously anticipating the new PBS film adaptation of Jane Austen's "Emma"

In this scene, from the 1996 film,Emma and Harriet are conversing and embroidering out in the field under the most fabulous garden tent! (If you have a photo of this tent-PLEASE- email it to me! I spent more time than I care to admit to, searching for it!)

Imagine, a tea party and great conversation under one of these!

Ah, my heart be still!

I can smell the tea, taste the pastries and hear the laughter!

Tea Party Dreamin' Fridays! Williamsburg!

One of my all time favorite vacation spots is Williamsburg, Va. I just love roaming the village, visiting the museum and of course hitting the shops and taking tea!

This year I'm trying to squeeze in a visit to Christiana Campbell's Tavern for Holiday Tea.

Here's what the official invitation states:

"Join Mrs. Campbell and her contemporaries for an afternoon tea, chocolate fancies, melodies played on harp to set the holiday mood, and lively discussion about 18th-century holiday traditions." 

Doesn't that sound divine?!

I haven't been able to tour the streets during the Christmas season, have you?

 

Wouldn't it be delightful to sit by the fire, listen to the pianist playing Christmas music while sipping tea?

Tea Party Dreamin' Fridays- Autumn Fest for One

I wanted to post my cute vintage tea party set in it's new winter home for you!

And a quick little Tablescape for my Thursday followers!

I even partook in a quiet Autumn Fest for One, savoring the hour of being home alone!

I've tucked up in the loft for a nice spot of tea, using my fall cloth-I just love the big cabbage roses!

When in Philly, PA, I found a fabulous market, Di Bruno Bros.! The stuffed pumkin was out of this world!

I've set my place with my favorites, the lunch plate from Target(sorry, it's 5 years old). The flatware is Tar-get too, just last week-on clearance!!!

Ah, told you the pumpkin was scrumptious! Happy Autumn and Halloween to All!

Tea Party Dreamin Friday- Next years outdoor party oasis!

Over Labor Day weekend, my daughter and I headed north to drop her off at college. We took secondary roads to avoid the traffic and enjoy the sights and scenery.

Well, we had a fabulous time and on the way home I decided to use the same route and revisit a couple of pretty spots (and a yard sale or two!) Then I came upon this wonderful farm house. But it was their stunning side yard that made my heart skip a beat!

I found outdoor tea party heaven! I took this photo myself! Nope, this is not a magazine layout that I pasted here!

Here's a close up! Every time I look at her wonderful space I see something new! Love her amazing pink sink outside the back door. ( Just added that to my yard sale list!) 

I did ring the bell to meet the owner but alas no one was home. So I left a quick note of admiration and I do so hope that when I head north again for parents weekend I can catch another glimpse-maybe they decorate for the fall !  I'll bring the s'mores!

 

Tea Party Dreamin' Friday- Tea with the Princess

This time of the year I tend to think about my favorite Princess, Diana.

 

I would have loved to invite her over for tea and have a chat.  Of course, I would have decorated with roses to make it  "lovely".

 Yes, I was caught up in the wedding and her everchanging style but like so many of her fans I saw who she was. Sadly, some saw only what she was.

So this week's tea party theme is "Tea with the English Rose"  We will build on the color pink and roses and go from there! I'd love to hear and see what you would do as you dream about having tea with our favorite Princess.

Tea Party Dreamin' Friday

This summer we have a very big deck project to undertake. My DH and I were walking around the side of our home, around the "Boulder" that our house is built on. We are at the top of the cliff- the end of our street. We overlook the state park and reservoir, a breathtaking view of the water and the mountains.

Hubby actually mentioned that he would like to have a gazebo in this spot to enjoy the view! Well, that got me dreaming of course! Wouldn't it be wonderful to cuddle up with a good book and a cup of tea in this gem of a gazebo to enjoy our view?  I think I'll print it out and put it on my vision board before I show it to the hubster. :)

 There are quite a few details that I love: the lattice (that looks substantial not flimsy) The hip roof that has those cute little dormers, the arches and oh that heavenly bridge. Not crazy about the cactus, I'll probably try lavender or what would you suggest? Can't you just see us having tea here!?

Tea Party Dreamin' Friday- Rain, rain go away......

I've had tea party things and my camera ready for a week, waiting for a ray of sun, just a ray, to do a photo shoot at the NJ botanical gardens.

Alas, no sun-no photos-YET! I know it's out there, so I'll be patient and share this photo with you!

A girl can dream, can't she?

Those who know me, can tell you that I adore ANYTHING toile! This blue and white fabric feels wonderful outside. Who would have thought!  Is it too bold to bring such beautiful pieces outside? I will certainly give it a try!  I'll have to wait for the sun, again! Are you this bold? Have you tried this, please share!

I'm dreaming of a great space to have tea in the morning! A place to sit, relax and meditate.

   

Here's a photo of my cute little front terrace after I pulled out some old azeala bushes. I've never been in love with the slate table and benches. My hubby finally admitted that he's not attached to them either! You know what that means! With a little more work ..............out they go!  I'm dreaming of a spot for tea like Lady Katherine's!

 

I just love her table & chairs! And the roses, well, I'll keep you posted on my progress!

Tea Party Dreamin' Fridays

I thought I'd start a new feature on my blog today! I've been taking a Social Media Made Simple class (it's excellent) and have been loving every minute of visiting other tea-rific blogs! www.hookedonhouses.net and http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com are now two of  my favorites! They have me dreamin' of a porch swing for my tea parties! (And my hubby got me so excited last night when he acutally mentioned a garage makeover. I'll keep you posted)
