I just adore visiting Susan at Between Naps on the Porch! Every thursday she hosts a fabulous event and I thought I might join in this week. Here are a few shots of our soon to debut Tea cosie collection, in honor of Marie Antoinette.
I fell in love with these hobnail glass vases at a local thrift shop. I was happy to pay $10.00 for 6. I've used my johnson bros. dinner plate as a charger and then stacked the lunch plate with the tea cup and saucer- beside it is the matching teapot. The table cloth, teapot cosie and matching napkins are from the Tea with Marie collection. I love the swag of garland and cameos featured in the design.
My cute little brass staffordshire pups got the place of honor and really pull the golden tones of the pattern out nicely. In the background you can see the little vignette I set in honor of the hostess. In the center is the lantern I purchased from colonial candle. Susan used it in one of her tablescapes and I fell in love with it! I put a few silk flowers inside to soften the textures and pull the color from the table over to the display.
I also tried my hand at napkin folding! I think it turned out pretty well for a novice.
I hope you enjoyed my little tea party for Marie! Now don't forget to take a minute and check out some talented tablescapers at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/2009/08/welcome-to-53rd-tablescape-thursday.html
