Show and Tell Monday- who gets your hard earned cash?

Whew! The rainy weekend is over and it’s time to enjoy a cup of tea!

Today I am showing off our new Holiday line! Normally I am one of those retailers that doesn’t like to push Christmas sales until after Halloween. I know that is not the usual trend in retail but my customers appreciate it!

                         

        

 

Today though, with the economy in the forefront I thought that I would show off our beautiful new gift line and ask you to keep one thing in mind. With whom and where should you spend your money?

I personally know 45 women who own their own businesses. Not just for fun but to supplement their household budget. Their full time job isn’t paying the credit card that fills up the gas tank! These women put their heart and sole into their businesses; we all have a friend that does this! Yet, we still purchase our skin care from the superstore. We still purchase our jewelry and accessory gifts from the department store because we love a sale.

Does that superstore need your money? Does that department store? Do you personally know the shareholders of that company?

Take a moment and call that skin care rep that you met six months ago at a friends house!(Or the Tea Lady you met J You know that her products are worth it and she needs your sale! In this economy, the focus should be on women helping other women. Women are the pivotal buyers and spenders in this country. We take care of our families and the finances. Why then are we not taking care of each other’s businesses?

Don’t know where to spend your hard earned cash so that it makes a difference in a families life?

Try right here at my favorite group of hardworking pink boutiques. These are multi talented ladies who give more bang for your buck than you will ever get from the superstore on the other side of town!

I traveled to West Virginia last weekend to meet Carol. She is a lovely women, a wife, mother and grandmother. She is excited to bring her years of retail expertise in the gift basket industry to her new tea party business!

We got to know each other over a wonderful italian dinner. She expressed her desire to build her tea business so that she can work from home. She dreams of being closer to her family and grandchildren. I think her love of people and her easy manner will take her far in new business.

Autumn Comforts at Tea Time

The hazy days of summer are finished and the cool evenings have arrived. Thank goodness! Fall is my favorite time of year. Perhaps because I was born in October. I love the cool temperatures, the change in the foliage, the colors of the season.

We always try to squeeze in a trip to the apple orchard during the hectic hours of soccer and homework. Nothing speaks of fall and comfort food like hot apple pie! I never got the hang of pie crust but I can handle a scone. Here's a great tasting easy to make apple cinnamon tartlet scone. Yes, that sure is a mouthful!

Try this easy to make fall comfort favorite! You'll need: 

1 pkg. Gourmet Cinnamon Scone Mix

1 C. heavy whipping cream

4 small apples

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1Tbspn. butter

Make scones as directed on package.

while scones are baking, sautee apple slices with cinnamon and 1Tbspn butter

 in pan for 4 min or until tender. Place 3 or 4 warm apple slices on top of each scone. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream if desired.

Show and Tell Monday-sharing a cup of tea with pink friends

What a fun "PINK" weekend! The best part was sharing it with 60 fabulous ladies.

The first Annual Make Mine Pink Retreat was held in Williamsburg, VA.  I will admit that I adore Williamsburg, so it wasn't a hardship to drive there. Of course, during the conference there was no time to enjoy the ambiance of the location but we did enjoy each other's company every second. (I did sneak in a few hours on Sunday to walk, enjoy the gardens and browse the shops for inspiration on displays for our new shop)

The speakers and their presentations were informative and entertaining, and that's not usually the case. Joyce is to be commended for an outstanding job in planning and pulling this off! There were so many fun little activities to keep us smiling! I was one of the lucky winners in the bingo giveaway. A lovely book from the collections of Country Living on decorating!

Connecting with all the attendees was truly a blessing! Each has such a warm and generous spirit, I recognized this when I first visited the MMP site last year. Now they each hold a place at my "tea table" as I start my day doing the work that the Lord has given me.

Show and Tell Monday-for Moms on the Go!

Today is Show and Tell Monday and I'm happy to have 5 minutes peace at the keyboard.

After the busy weekend I've had I will admit to you and only you that I am that stereotyped "Soccer Mom"!

Yes, it's true. Two boys, two leagues, 4 teams, equals soccer mania! What does this have to do with Show and Tell Monday or even tea you ask?

 

I have been searching high and low for my own Travel mug. Something pretty but not silly, you know?

I was happily searching for Tea infused chocolates at the gift show last month when I came across these tumblers! This was the answer! This wonderful tumbler fills the bill! Imagine, not only is it attractive but it also:

"CelebraTea"-Back to School Tea time

The art of Afternoon Tea can transport you to a wonderful world of bliss and tranquility. Everyday moments become a celebration when tea is included! Let's enjoy tea with the kids after school!

Autumn means that the children are back to school and back to their daily routines. Bring a bit of fun and spontaneity to the table an surprise them with "Tea Time". (this is also a good time to remind them of Mr. & Mrs. Manners!)

You will need:

* finger food treats-something special- how about pretty mini cupcakes from the bakery

* teacups, saucers, spoons and napkins for everyone

*your favorite blend of tea or even hot cocoa

* milk and sugar

Now go ahead and go all out! watch their eyes pop when they see that the table is set so nice for them!

Yes, put out the pretty fabric napkins and show them how to place it on their laps. (Won't Nana be pleased to see this on her next visit!)

Afternoon Tea is meant to be relaxing and fun. Enjoy the moment wit your children! I bet that this will bring back memories for you while making new memories for them!
